999 Call Handler

As a call handler you will answer 999 calls from the public and GPs. Working quickly and calmly, you’ll take the essential details, firstly the exact location of the incident followed by information about what has happened. This is logged on the computer system so a dispatcher can send the correct help to the patient(s). Using the advanced medical priority dispatch system (AMPDS) you will ask the caller a series of questions to determine the priority of the emergency and you will then be able to give dispatch life-support which can include instructions to control bleeding and resuscitation.
