As a dispatcher you will receive details on the computer screen of all urgent and emergency cases being taken by the call-handlers (EMDs). You will then allocate the nearest and most appropriate ambulance resource to the incident. You will continually monitor the cases appearing, ensuring that the correct resources are responding as well as being responsible for the safety and welfare of the operational ambulance staff within your dispatch area.
