NewsCampaignsThe Children's Safety Education Foundation
The full colour guidebooks aim to teach children aged between 6-11 about their bodies, how to look after them, how to recognise a medical emergency and how to respond. South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust will be distributing copies of the Early Years First Aid Handbook for the 6-7 year olds (Key Stage 1) and the First Aid Handbook for the 7-11 year olds (Key Stage 2). Designed by a qualified paramedic, both of these books will guide children through projects and activities, which can be discussed with teachers and parents alike. Our strategy is not only to inform but also educate the children in a fun and positive way.

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust, in conjunction with The Children’s Safety
Education Foundation, has launched a major campaign to provide primary school children throughout
Dorset, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly with lifesaving First Aid Handbooks.
Local businesses are being approached for sponsorship by members of The Children’s Safety
Education Foundation, whose objective is to provide schools with their educational resources. The Trust is hoping that local businesses will support this vital educational project.
